NCCEP’s research-based college and career readiness program and curriculum for grades 7 – 12

Since 2008, our mission has been to empower students across the nation to thrive in both their academic and post-secondary education journeys, with a particular focus on college readiness. Over this period, more than 1,500 schools and organizations across the nation have utilized the comprehensive Career & College Clubs curriculum to help students prepare for college, career, and life.

Why Use College and Career Readiness Clubs

A Holistic 7-12 Curriculum

Each grade level contains sequenced, ready-to-go activities that prepare students for postsecondary education by developing their knowledge and skills in five content areas:

  • College and career readiness

  • Academic preparation

  • Leadership development

  • Social and emotional skills

  • Professional etiquette

Student-led activities

Students are actively involved in leading and participating in the material using peer-to-peer learning.

Research-based

ACT evaluations show its impact and provides the framework for the curriculum, which follows a scope and sequence of grade-level college and career readiness standards.

Flexible Implementation

The curriculum can be used during instruction time, after school, summer programming, with a single grade level, or multiple grade levels. We help schools align the program to their unique needs.

Achieves GEAR UP Goals

While not exclusively for GEAR UP programs, Career & College Clubs fulfills the mission and objectives for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs, a U.S. Department of Education grant.

Career & College Clubs works!

A 2021 ACT evaluation found that students who participated in NCCEP’s Career & College Clubs:

Developed Stronger Social and Emotional Skills

Participants improved in all areas, especially in academic discipline, managing feelings, and career exploration.

Increased Knowledge of Postsecondary Education

Students felt they were on track to have enough info about college entrance requirements and knew what it takes to get into a 4-year college.

Improved educational intentions

93% of Career & College Clubs participants plan to get a college degree.
