Katie Hill, Ph.D.

Director of Programs

In her role at NCCEP, Dr. Hill and is responsible for supporting programs in service of GEAR UP grantees. Before entering this role, Dr. Hill served on both the Excel team (Associate Director of Programs then Strategic Initiatives) and the Mobilize team (Associate Director for Government Relations). Prior to that, she was a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), for the Nevada GEAR UP grant from 2011-2016. While at UNR, she was part of the research and evaluation team and was responsible for quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis for the grant.

A Nevada GEAR UP alum, Dr. Hill has participated in national GEAR UP initiatives since high school, including the Youth Leadership Summit and the GEAR UP Alumni Leadership Academy. With a wealth of experience at the local and national levels, she is thrilled to find creative and innovative ways to support the professionals who serve GEAR UP students so that others, like her, have the support they need to enter and succeed in a postsecondary education.

Dr. Hill completed her Doctorate of Philosophy in Education with an emphasis in Educational Leadership from UNR in May, 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from UNR.
