Luis González Mendoza

Associate Director of Communications and Engagement

Luis González Mendoza serves as the Associate Director of Communications and Engagement for the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships. In this role, he manages organizational communications and marketing, focusing on amplifying the stories of the GEAR UP community and promoting NCCEP’s products and services.

Luis is a first-generation college graduate and a former DACA holder born in Mexico and raised in rural Indiana. Luis has always had a passion to serve immigrant communities and immigrant youth. As a college student, Luis balanced his time between work, school and community organizing, where he had the opportunity to co-lead local, state, and national initiatives to bring justice to Indiana’s undocumented populations.

After graduating from Indiana University South Bend with a double major in Marketing and Advertising, Luis spent six years working in a private marketing research firm and then for the City of South Bend’s Department of Diversity & Inclusion under the leadership of Mayor Pete Buttigieg, In recent years, he worked for the National Immigrant Justice Center and Noble Schools’ where he served Chicago’s immigrant’s populations. As the DREAMer Supports Manager, he oversaw the Pritzker Access Scholarship and provided support to Noble’s undocumented populations and their families during high school and as they persist through college.
