It's Your Turn: Submit Your Proposal for the 2022 NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference
We have learned a lot over the past year! What better way to share your discoveries, experiences, and aha-moments than by submitting a proposal to present at the NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference in Washington D.C., July 17th – 20th, 2022.
The NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference is like an overnight camp for GEAR UP professionals. In addition to networking with colleagues, every attendee will walk away with ready-to-use templates and methods for engaging students, schools, and families. This is only possible because of the infinite number of resources that are shared by GEAR UP practitioners and partners every year. Now, it is your chance to add to the GEAR UP collective! We encourage all GEAR UP professionals and partners, interested in improving the post-secondary outcomes of GEAR UP students to submit a proposal.
So, how do you author a great proposal? Use these questions to guide your topic and content selection.
1. What do I know that others may not know?
We often assume that information, tools, or even methods of engagement are widely available to everyone. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. In fact, you may find that there is information that you’ve had access to for years that others are just now discovering. You are in an excellent position to help bridge the gap.
2. Who can I collaborate with?
GEAR UP’s success is deeply connected to a spirit of collaboration. We encourage you to include varying perspectives and to showcase how you are strengthening your community and building partnerships. You do not have to go at this alone!
3. Would I attend my session?
At some point, we have all attended boring professional development offerings. We’ve also all attended sessions that inspired and motivated us. Keep these experiences in mind as you craft your proposal and session.
