GEAR UP Community Advocacy in Action
Our community has come together in visible unity and strength over the past month to advocate for GEAR UP in a variety of ways.
Because of your advocacy, we gained 24 new supporters from Congress on the GEAR UP Dear Colleague letters asking for a significant increase in GEAR UP funding for Fiscal Year 2023. We have record bipartisan support on both the House and the Senate letter.
This is because of your advocacy. Your commitment to your students. Your voice elevating the #GEARUPworks message. Your data telling the GEAR UP story.
Because of the data GEAR UP Directors and Evaluators submit every year through the NCCEP Advocacy Survey, you have gained record support in Washington, D.C. for GEAR UP funding.
We need you now for the final stretch of this advocacy season. The current edition of the NCCEP Advocacy Survey is underway. Like all of the advocacy actions of this season, the community has started out strong. Let’s finish strong.
Today is the deadline to submit a response for your grant for the 2022 NCCEP Advocacy Survey. The data you provide will support critical appropriations and authorization action over the upcoming weeks. This time last year, we had a 25% completion rate. Today we have a 36% completion rate. While we are on track with a fantastic completion rate – we need a 100% completion rate to have the complete picture of GEAR UP. Contact us if you have any questions regarding your response.
